Below are the modules I have been giving to the mothers and the volunteers who are involved in the Pondo ng Pinoy Feeding Program of the parish. The “students” are mostly mothers who are also engaged in ministry in different areas of our parish’s life. The modules below is just part of a larger program of adult catechism directed to mothers.

The modules are delivered in Tagalog. The technical terms you find in this article are avoided in actual delivery.

  • The Scriptures is like a newspaper. Its message is expressed in different literary forms
  • Because those who wrote it were also human, the text of Scriptures is tied up to a particular period of time and in a particular cultural context.
  • Our translations bridge the gap between us and the Scriptures up to a certain point
  • There are good translations that help the modern reader get into the mind of the human author of Scriptures

"To compose the sacred books, God chose certain men who, all the while he employed them in this task, made full use of their own faculties and powers so that, though he acted in them and by them, it was as true authors that they consigned to writing whatever he wanted written, and no more."
